Lighthouse in a Storm

The lighthouse was built to stand when winds get loud, when waves panic, when direction is lost. Ships come to it broken, confused, tired – and the lighthouse gives them just one thing: orientation. It does this quietly, steadily, without asking for anything in return. But no one ever asks the lighthouse if it gets tired of standing.
